Herbal healthcare major Himalaya Drug Company today announced the launch of a baby care range consisting of seven products. They include a moisturizing soap, powder, lotion, shampoo, nourishing oil, cream and diaper rash cream.

Herbal actives range
"The launch marks Himalaya's entry into the baby care category with a 100 per cent herbal actives range," the Bangalore-based company said. "Himalaya baby diaper rash cream is the first of its kind in the category in India".

Company officials said R & D efforts at Himalaya had been directed towards arriving at a safe and herbal baby care range supported by modern and scientific processes.

"Extensive dermal safety studies and clinical trials have been conducted to determine and ascertain the safety and efficacy of each and every product in the range," they said.

According to the company's Business Head, Personal Care Division, Mr. Soumitro Banerji, market surveys indicated a ready willingness among consumers to experience a brand of repute in the herbal category.

Measured efficacy
The Executive Director - Research and Technical Services, Dr. S K Mitra, said the range had been supported by superior process development techniques to ensure that the products deliver measured efficacy and at the same time were mild on the baby's skin.

"The entire range has been produced and developed with utmost care and attention after seven years of extensive research," added Dr. Mitra.
