New Drug from Himalaya

Himalaya Herbal Healthcare has launched Himplasia, a herbal drug to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition occuring due to an enlarged prostate. The BPH drug market, estimated at Rs 60 crore, is now witnessing heightened activity with big players like Pfizer being involved.

Himalaya has claimed that Himplasia, which costs Rs 3 per tablet, is the only drug which takes care of the dual purpose of reducing the size of the prostate and also relax the smooth muscles.

Philipe Haydon, General Manager (pharma marketing), while announcing the launch, said Himalaya did 10 years of research before launching the product.
