Himalaya Drug Company Ltd has drawn up plans to double its turnover
to Rs.500 crore in the next five years. At the same time, the export
figure would quadruple from 12 to 50 pc.
Talking to newsmen, here on Wednesday the Company President and
Chief Executive Officer Ravi Prasad said that during the current
fiscal they are expecting to achieve a turnover of Rs.250 crore.
"We have set ourselves a target of Rs.500 crore by 2007."
The company, producer of leading household brands and ayurvedic
concepts, proposed to quadruple its exports in the next five years
to 50 pc from the current 12 pc. The company would market its products
under brand name 'Himalaya' in over 50 countries. "Marketing
under one brand name would help the company to become an International
herbal healthcare brand," he said.
An offshore manufacturing operation would commence production soon.
Company Executive Director (Research and Technical Services) Dr.
S.K. Mitra said that several
new drugs are in the pipeline for release.
