The Himalaya Drug Company, the Bangalore-based herbal healthcare company plans to set up offshore manufacturing facilities in the US and Europe through transfer of technology as part of its global expansion plans.

The Rs. 200 crore company has already formed joint ventures with leading healthcare companies in Africa, Europe, and the US. "We will soon commence our first offshore manufacturing operations in the Gulf region for marketing seven of its healthcare and personal care products", Mr. Ravi Prasad, President and CEO, Himalaya Drug Company, said.

The company has transferred its know-how to a local pharmaceutical company in the UAE for manufacturing some of its products. This facility will also be marketing the range of Himalaya products in the entire Gulf region.

The company, as part of its globalisation drive plans to bring in its various healthcare and personal care products, marketed presently in different brand names, under a single brand name Himalaya.
