Himalaya’s latest advertisement campaign, which went on air for the first time in August this year is creating a buzz amongst the youth.
The new ad for Himalaya Purifying Neem Face wash brings to the fore the idea of ‘Himalaya sabse pehle’ or ‘Himalaya First’.
The message is simple and clear- TRY HIMALAYA FIRST AND SPARE YOURSELF THE AGONY OF GOING THROUGH SEVERAL REMEDIES THAT DON’T WORK!!!
The TV commercial has an extremely young look and feel- aimed at capturing the interest of the youth. The music is distinctly continental and the model’s look is very retro chic! The ad is instantly endearing as it tells the story of the experiences of a girl-next-door- someone consumers can instantly connect with.
Says Neha Agarwal, a college student and big fan of Himalaya’s Purifying Neem Face Wash, “I can easily identify with the protagonist in this commercial. I used to have nightmares over my acne problem and I tried anything and everything to keep pimples away! Nothing really worked for me. After going through so many treatments, I tried Himalaya’s Purifying Neem Face Wash and it is simply fabulous. What I love about it is that it cleans my skin and keeps pimples away. It is my two-in-one solution!’
The ad emphasizes the key product propositions of Himalaya: natural, hassle-free and efficacious solutions at your fingertips!
With this commercial, Himalaya has moved away from conventional skincare advertisements that focus on glamour, overnight transformations from the ‘girl-next-door’ to drop dead gorgeous beauties.
The treatment of the ad is unique both technically and also in the way the message is highlighted. In startling contrast is the voice over- deadpan, almost like a spectator, with a wonderful tongue-in-cheek, dry humour.
The product benefits and Himalaya’s USP are woven into a narrative that captures an experience which most young women can easily identify with.
