Think teenage years and sport is definitely going to figure high on the 'most enjoyable' things on your list. And why not? Sport is not just about fun & fitness but it is also about learning some very important values like discipline, hard work, determination, competitive spirit and team work. Values that go a long way in helping you achieve your goals.
When we kicked off The Himalaya Cup Under-15 Cricket Championship Series in Bangalore this June, the objective was simple- emphasize values of hard work and determination, with No Shortcuts for Good Health or Success, being the driving mantra. Bangalore was the launch pad for the series, which will now be rolled out in 4 other cities including Hyderabad, Delhi and Jamshedpur, Ranchi & Bokaro.
This is the third year running for The Himalaya Cup, which seeks to foster cricketing talent and develop cricketing skills. The series promises to be exciting and full of action as young & aspiring players get to test their skills on a much larger 'field'.
By securing the participation of 109 schools across 4 cities and ensuring the involvement of respective State Cricket Associations, the Himalaya Cup will create a platform where boys of this age group can play professional cricket.
The kids will compete with a lot more schools, which means more training sessions and greater exposure. The opportunity to play at various stadiums in Bangalore will further add to their learning experience.
A record 109 schools will participate in the Himalaya Cup.
